A technical SEO audit tool that tells you what to fix first

Updated 21 Oct 2026 · Written and checked by the AI Marketing Master team, Shivah Web Tech

Short answer

A technical SEO audit tool crawls your website the way a search engine does and lists the problems that stop pages being found or understood. AI Marketing Master checks titles, headings, broken links, redirects, canonical tags, your sitemap, robots.txt, HTTPS, image alt text, basic mobile set-up and structured data, then gives you a plain-English report ordered by what matters most.

What "technical" SEO actually covers

Think of technical SEO as the plumbing of your website. Good writing and good photos do little if Google cannot reach a page, gets sent round in circles by redirects, or is told by a stray tag to ignore the page.

A technical audit does not judge whether your offer is attractive or whether other websites link to you. It looks at the parts of the site that a search engine reads before it reads your words: addresses, status codes, tags, files and links.

The checks the crawler runs on every page it can reach

  • Page titles and meta descriptions: missing, empty or repeated across pages.
  • Headings: pages with no main heading or a muddled heading order.
  • Broken links: internal links that lead to an error page.
  • Redirects: links that bounce through one or more redirects before landing.
  • Images without alt text, so search engines and screen readers cannot tell what they show.
  • Canonical tags that are missing or point somewhere unexpected.
  • Your XML sitemap and robots.txt file: whether they exist and can be read.
  • HTTPS: pages still served over plain HTTP.
  • Basic mobile set-up and whether structured data is present on the page.

From first crawl to a fixed website

  • Add your website address. The crawler follows your internal links and obeys your robots.txt rules.
  • Open the report. Each finding says what is wrong, why it matters and the one next step.
  • Ask Milo, the built-in assistant, to explain a term or draft a fix such as a clearer page title.
  • Approve the fixes you agree with. On WordPress, new titles, meta descriptions and image alt text can be applied for you and rolled back later.
  • Run the audit again. A problem only leaves the list when the new crawl no longer finds it.

Speed and search numbers beside the crawl

Crawl findings tell you what is broken. They do not tell you which pages people actually see in Google. Once you connect Google Search Console, the app shows clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, so you can fix the pages that already get attention first.

Core Web Vitals sit alongside, for phone and computer. You see real-visitor field data from the Chrome UX Report where Google has enough visits, and lab data from PageSpeed Insights for any page. This part needs a Google API key that the platform sets up.

Who this tool suits

Owners of shops, clinics, coaching centres and service firms who look after their own site and want a short, honest to-do list instead of a wall of warnings. Freelancers and agencies who manage many client websites and need the same repeatable check for each one, with a client switcher and a PDF report they can share.

What it does not do

  • The crawler only sees pages it can reach through links and that robots.txt allows. Pages behind a login are not checked.
  • It checks whether structured data is present, not every rule of every schema type.
  • Core Web Vitals need a Google API key set by the platform, and field data appears only for pages with enough real visits.
  • It does not provide rank tracking, backlink data or keyword difficulty.

Questions people ask

Will the crawler slow down or harm my website?

It reads public pages much like a search engine does and respects your robots.txt file. It does not log in, submit forms or change anything on the site.

Does it work on any website builder?

Yes, the audit works on any public website. Automatic fixes are limited to WordPress sites that you connect with an application password.

How is this different from Google Search Console?

Search Console shows how Google sees your site and how it performs in search. The audit crawls your pages directly and explains each problem in plain words. Using both together gives the clearest picture.

Does it check my competitors' websites?

The audit is for your own site. A separate competitor watch can track up to five competitor websites and show what changed on their public pages.

Will fixing everything in the report get me to the top of Google?

No tool can promise that. Fixing technical problems removes obstacles, but rankings also depend on your content, your competitors and many signals outside your website.
