Video editing for people who are not editors

Updated 21 Oct 2026 · Written and checked by the AI Marketing Master team, Shivah Web Tech

Short answer

If you are not an editor, you only need four skills: cutting the dull start and end of each clip, putting clips in a sensible order, adding short on-screen text, and keeping the sound clear. AI Marketing Master gives you a simple editor for exactly those steps, with AI help for the words, and renders a checked MP4 for you.

Why editing feels hard, and why it does not have to be

Full editing programs show dozens of tracks, effects and settings. For a business owner that screen is a reason to give up. But most short business videos do not need any of it. They need clean cuts, a clear order and readable words.

Think of editing as tidying, not as art. You are removing the bits that waste the viewer's time.

The four edits that matter

  • Trim: remove the first and last seconds of each clip, where you were pressing record or lowering the phone.
  • Order: arrange clips so they tell a simple story, usually beginning, middle, result.
  • Text: add a short line on screen so the video makes sense without sound.
  • Sound: either keep the real sound, add music you have rights to, or both at sensible levels.

What the editor in AI Marketing Master looks like

You see your clips and photos in a list. For each one you set a start and an end. You drag them into order. You type text for any clip. You pick a music file if you want one and choose whether to keep the clip sound. You choose the shape: 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9. That is all.

When you press render, the job waits in a queue on our server, so you do not need a powerful phone or computer. The finished MP4 is checked before it is kept. If it fails the check, you see a plain message about what went wrong.

Where AI helps a non-editor

  • Suggesting an opening hook when you are stuck for words.
  • Shortening a long on-screen sentence so it fits on a phone screen.
  • Drafting the post caption and hashtags that go under the video.
  • Keeping wording to facts and offers you have approved in your Business Profile.

What you will not find, on purpose

There are no effects menus, keyframes or colour wheels. There is also no automatic editing: the app does not choose clips, cut pauses, enhance sound, transcribe speech, add transitions or make thumbnails. A music library is not included.

This keeps the tool small enough to learn in one sitting. If you outgrow it and need advanced effects, a full editing program or a freelance editor is the right next step.

Who it is for

Owners who post their own content, front-desk or shop staff given the job of social media, and agency team members who turn client clips into simple reels for approval. Roles control who can create and who can approve, so a junior staff member can make the reel while the owner signs it off.

What it does not do

  • No transitions, effects, colour correction or multi-track timeline.
  • No automatic editing, transcription or sound enhancement.
  • Up to 20 clips and 90 seconds per video, with a monthly render limit.

Questions people ask

Do I need a powerful computer?

No. Rendering happens on our server, so a normal phone or laptop is enough to upload clips and arrange them.

Can I learn it without training?

Most people can. The steps are trim, order, type text, add music and render. Milo, the assistant, can answer questions as you go.

Can I add transitions or effects?

No. There is no transitions or effects library. Clips join with straight cuts.

What if I make a mistake after rendering?

Change the clips or text and render again. A monthly render limit applies, so check your plan on the pricing page.
