Check whether AI answers mention your business

Updated 21 Oct 2026 · Written and checked by the AI Marketing Master team, Shivah Web Tech

Short answer

AI Marketing Master's "Are you in AI answers?" check asks a web-searching AI a question your customers might ask, then tells you whether the answer names your business or links to your website. It is a spot check that shows where you stand for that question today. It is not a ranking, and it cannot make any AI tool mention you.

Why owners want to know

More customers now type full questions into AI tools: "Which clinic near Sector 70 Mohali does physiotherapy on Sundays?" or "Good tiffin service in Brampton for Punjabi food?". If the answer lists three businesses and yours is not one of them, you would want to know, and you would want to know why.

Checking by hand is unreliable. The answer changes with the exact wording, the place you ask from, and whether you are signed in. One quick try on your own phone tells you very little.

What the check does

  • You choose or write a customer-style question, in plain words, as a customer would ask it.
  • The app sends that question to a web-searching AI.
  • It reads the answer and checks two things: does the answer name your business, and does it link to your website?
  • It records the answer and the result, so you can compare later checks with earlier ones.

How to choose good questions

  • Use questions real customers ask you, not phrases you wish you ranked for.
  • Include the place when location matters: a town, neighbourhood or landmark.
  • Mix broad questions ("bakery for eggless birthday cakes in Panchkula") with specific ones about a service you are known for.
  • Keep the same small set of questions over time so changes mean something.

What to do with the result

If you are named, read what the answer says about you. Is the description correct? Wrong opening hours or an old address are worth fixing at the source, usually your website or Google Business Profile.

If you are not named, look at what the answer did use. Often it relies on pages that state their services, area and details clearly. Compare that with your own pages: do you have a page that plainly answers this question? Are your business details the same everywhere? Is the important text crawlable? Fixing those basics is the honest route to being understood.

Who finds this useful

Local service businesses, clinics, coaching institutes, restaurants and agencies reporting to clients all benefit from seeing a real AI answer to a real question. For agencies, the recorded answer is a concrete example to discuss with a client instead of a vague claim about "AI visibility".

Why this is a spot check, not a score

AI answers are not a fixed list like search results. Ask the same question twice and the wording, the businesses named and the links can change. Different AI tools also give different answers. So the check tells you what one web-searching AI said for one question at one moment. Patterns across several checks over time are more meaningful than any single result. We do not turn it into a ranking or a score, because that would suggest a precision the data does not have.

What it does not do

  • One web-searching AI, one question per check. Results vary and are not a ranking.
  • The check reports whether you are named or linked; it cannot change what any AI tool says.

Questions people ask

Does this check ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews?

No. It uses one web-searching AI chosen by the platform. Other tools may give different answers, so treat the result as a sample.

Can you get my business into AI answers?

No one can promise that. We help you make your information clear, consistent and crawlable, which gives AI tools a fair chance to describe you correctly.

Why did I get a different result from last week?

AI answers change with wording, timing and the pages the tool happens to read. Look at the pattern over several checks rather than one result.

Does it use my AI budget?

Yes. Each check uses an outside AI service, so it counts towards your monthly AI usage and will not run once the monthly AI spending cap is reached.
